Marmaris is a coastal town, a port city and a tourist destination on the southwest Mediterranean coast of Turkey, in the Mugla Province.  Marmaris is one of the Turkey’s most popular holiday town, largest resorts and beaches on the Aegean coast.   With its surroundings, long coastline, outstanding landscape of pine-covered hills, isolated bays and inlets, wonderful beaches, ancient cities, marinas and every kind of attractions; Marmaris welcomes about 420,000 people during the tourism season.  So Marmaris and its environment can be considered as the Mediterranean paradise.

Hundreds of seashore and luxury restaurants, world class discos and bars attracts thousands of travellers.  Marmaris has many places to visit, fine sandy beaches and spectacular bays in and around.  Icmeler is a beautiful beach resort only 8 kilometres from the large and vibrant resort of Marmaris and mostly considered together.

Marmaris nightlife is vibrant and there are plenty of bars, discos and nightclubs that you cab find every kind of music for your taste.  Marmaris Barlar Street is the preferred location and the night life lasts until the first lights in the morning.

Transportation is very well organized in Marmaris.  There are regular shuttle buses are available to the near villages and small towns.  Shopping areas are well built and offer great brands and opportunities to their guests.  The Grand Bazaar and Netsel Marina are ideal for both shopping and activities and worth to go.  Marmaris very famous with its Honey.  92% of the world’s pine honey procurement is produced in the Aegean region in Turkey. Mugla contributes to the pine honey production with 75% and Marmaris with 30%.   Leather,  carpets, handcrafts, jewelry, honey, brand clothing and souvenir shops are the main interests in Marmaris shopping.

Marmaris Castle, located in the center is worth seeing.  It is possible to visit a lot of historic places and ancient cities. Marmaris has always been an important coastal town and trade center for centuries, due to its location on the intersection point of Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. History of Marmaris starts when the first settlement begun with the arrival of a tribe to the region in from 3400 BC and housed Caria and many other important civilisations.

Marmaris has typical Aegean and Mediterranean climate, summer is hot, winter is rainy.  The hottest months are July and August. Marmaris is a perfect place for holidaymakers with its all kinds of facilities, quite or active.
